The College Choir and the BCC Chamber Singers, under the direction of Gerald Grahame, have been busy this semester preparing for their May 15th spring concert. Both ensembles promoted the music department in programs at Chenango Valley High School on April 12th and at Maine-Endwell High School on April 19th. At these concerts the Chamber Singers performed madrigals from the Renaissance in costumes borrowed from Tri-Cities Opera, while the College Choir sang a variety of music including jazz arrangements, Broadway tunes, and rock & roll selections. The Chamber Singers will also perform for the first time with the Tri-Cites Opera in their upcoming “Cavalleria Rusticana”/”I Pagliaci” production as the internal chorus.
College Choir’s and Chamber Singers’ final performance entitled “Madrigals and Modern Music”, will be on May 15th at 7 pm at the Little Theater. Admission is free and all faculty and staff are cordially invited to attend.
